Totò e Peppino: An Authentic Italian Restaurant in Panglao (Bohol) with a Legit Neapolitan Pizza Oven!

You wouldn’t think of Bohol, a province in the Visayas region, as a foodie paradise. But you’ll be surprised that there are a lot of phenomenal food establishments, including authentic Italian restaurants. One of them is Totò e Peppino.

Named after an Italian comedy duo, Totò e Peppino is one of the popular food spots in beach town of Panglao, Bohol. They’re famous for having a Neapolitan pizza oven.

The result is a thin crust that’s crisp on one side and chewy on another. It’s also nicely charred.

They also offer different kinds of pasta. The Spaghetti Nero di Seppia (squid ink spaghetti). The pasta is al dente and has a nice squid ink flavor, and the pieces of squid are rightly cooked. The dish also has olive oil and garlic flavors, with a nice acidity from the tomatoes. It’s easily my favorite dish in the restaurant.

The Spaghetti Carbonara is rich and buttery, with huge slices and ham and bacon. But I find the pasta soft, and the dish is too creamy.

Totò e Peppino also offers secondi (meat and fish). The Pork Cotoletta, which is a breaded pork chop, is crunchy and comes with thick-cut fries.

To end the meal, the Tiramisu is perfect.

Totò e Peppino serves great Italian food. If you’re in Panglao, make sure to visit it. I highly recommend it to you!
