One of our most memorable food experiences in Boracay Island is the Four Cheese Pizza and Oyster Sisig of barLO Resto Lounge in Two Seasons Boracay Resort. It’s so good that writing about it is making me salivate. Next time a friend visits Boracay and offers to bring pasalubong (souvenir), I won’t ask him for Calamansi Muffins of Real Coffee (though I love it). Instead, I’ll ask him to get me a Four Cheese Pizza instead.
But here’s the good news: I don’t need to ask for pasalubong. In fact, we all don’t have to fly to Boracay just to get our Four Cheese Pizza and Oyster Sisig fix. That’s because of Itmiro Oyster Bar & Kitchen.
Inside Itmiro Oyster Bar & Kitchen
Located in Mandaluyong City, Itmiro Oyster Bar & Kitchen is a restaurant by John Penaloza, the man behind barLO and the beef pares (braised beef dish) chain Goto Tendon. No wonder you will have to pass through a Goto Tendon branch (via a secret door) before you can get to Itmiro.
The Door to Itmiro
When you enter into Itmiro, it feels like another world. The venue gives a speakeasy vibe:

So how do I find Itmiro’s Four Cheese Pizza? It has brie, cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan, so it’s definitely cheesy. Though I find the crust too crisp than usual, the pizza is similar to Two Seasons’!

We didn’t order the Oyster Sisig because we weren’t in the mood for it. But we ordered their Aklan Oysters (Aklan is a province in the Visayas region and is known for oysters). After all, the restaurant’s name is a play on the words “eat me raw”!
The Fresh Oysters are airflown from the province. It’s fresh and briny!

The Baked Oysters are creamy and a bit sweet. I wish it’s cheesy.

We also tried their Crispy Baby Squid, which is crunchy and addictive!

And their Salpicao, which is beef sautéed in olive oil and seasoned and topped with garlic. It has fairly-sized chunks of tender beef, covered in garlicky flavors. It’s definitely rice-worthy!

Itmiro Oyster Bar & Kitchen offers the same Two Seasons’ Four Cheese Pizza (and Oyster Sisig, I believe), serves good oysters, and makes delicious food. I highly recommend it to you!
