One of the food experiences that you should try in Hong Kong (and it’s almost a crime to miss it LOL) is having yum cha (literally “drink tea”) or eating dim sum (literally “touches the heart”, it refers to small plates of food). And one of the best places to try it is at One Dim Sum.

One Dim Sum at Prince Edward

Founded in Prince Edward back in 2007, One Dim Sum is one of the popular dim sum spots in Hong Kong. Their dim sum is so good that it got the attention of the MICHELIN Guide, granting them a MICHELIN Star back in 2012 and 2013.

We also like that they have a clean and modern venue, friendly staff (which is rare in HK), and a menu with allergen information (although they have one item in the menu—Deep Fried Glutinous Rice Pork Dumplings—which contains shrimp but is not indicated in the menu).

Here are the food we tried:

  • Baked Snow White BBQ Pork Buns (3 pcs.): The bun is soft and mochi-ey, and has a sweet, barbecue filling.

  • Boiled Chinese Vegetable: It’s fresh and crisp. You can never go wrong with vegetables in Hong Kong!

  • Steamed Beef Balls: These Cantonese balls (sounds weird! LOL) are humongous. It’s also juicy and has a crunch from water chestnuts.

  • Steamed Custard Buns (2 pcs.): It’s a fluffy steamed bun filled with a creamy and velvety salted egg custard filling.

  • Steamed Chicken Feet and Spare Ribs Rice: It’s the softest and the best one I’ve ever tried in all of Hong Kong.

  • Vegetarian Spring Rolls (3 pcs.): Even though the filling is made of veggies, it’s still juicy. Also, the wrapper is crunchy.

One Dim Sum is one of the best dim sum spots I’ve ever tried in Hong Kong. They may have lost their MICHELIN Star (maybe the quality deteriorated or the consistency is lacking). Still, they make amazing dim sum that’s worth stopping by. I highly recommend it to you!
