Burnt Diner: This Burger Joint in Manila Serves Smash Burgers at Student-Friendly Prices!
A single-patty cheeseburger in Metro Manila typically costs from P250 to P550. To complete your burger meal, you will have to add fries and drinks (and bacon, to make it yummier). With rising prices, it may be wise to space out your burger meals.
But thankfully, a burger joint in Manila offers super affordable smash burgers—Burnt Diner.
Located in a university area (and my alma mater), Burnt Diner offers burgers at student-friendly prices. A one-patty cheeseburger (called The Single Burnt) only costs P129, while a four-patty one (The Quad Burnt) costs P299. No wonder there were many students there (even from schools beyond the area) when we visited!

The burgers may be cheap. But are they good? Here’s what I think.
Their Single/Double/Triple/Quadruple Burnt have patties that are thin, beefy, and juicy, with crisp edges. It also has white onions that are steamed by the beef juices, adding a nice sweetness and crunch to every bite.
There are also pickles that add tang. The only letdown is the sauce, which is only sweet. I wish that it’s also tangy.
Here’s a pro-tip: Get the Burnt burger without the sauce. And order the Quadruple Burnt so you could taste more beefiness!
The Single/Double BLT is like the Burnt hamburger but with crisp veggies and slices of bacon.
For side, you can have their Chonky Fries or Hash Browns. But the former is leathery so just get latter.
And don’t forget the Milkshake, which is so good. It’s like drinking ice cream!
In my opinion, Burnt Diner doesn’t serve the best burgers in town. But at times of crisis (I’m publishing this article during a war in the Middle East) when budget is tight, it might just be the answer to our burger cravings. For its price and value, I highly recommend it to you!
