Arca's Yard (Baguio City): A Cafe with a Cozy Vibe and a Mini Library

I’m doing a Baguio City Food Trip 2022 series this month. Check out the installments so far: Agara Ramen | Balajadia Kitchenette | Chef’s Home | Farmer’s Daughter | GoodTaste Cafe and Restaurant | Lemon and Olives Greek Taverna | Ozark Diner

Nothing beats a good cup of coffee in the cold Baguio weather. It’s a good thing that you won’t run out of cafes to satisfy your caffeine (and Instagram) fix. One of them is Arca’s Yard.

Arca’s Yard

Arca’s Yard is cafe, library, and museum in one. It’s located in a higher and secluded part of Baguio so you can have peace, quiet, and an amazing view.

The Veranda

Like many establishments in Baguio, Arca’s Yard is a house-turned-cafe/restaurant. Every space (attic, veranda, etc.) is utilized and has its own unique layout, with furnitures made of solid wood.

At the Attic

There’s a mini library in one of the floors. Unfortunately, we couldn’t touch the books at that time. I’m not sure why; maybe it’s because of the pandemic.

The cafe is also a feast for the eyes, as there are many Cordilleran artworks on display. That’s why it’s called a museum, too.

While Arca’s Yard offer Western, Filipino, and even Japanese food, we only had their beverages and a dessert. We tried the Arca’s Cloud Tea with Wild Honey topped with Cream. When mixed, it tastes like the Malaysian Teh Tarik (pulled milk tea). LOL. But I like it!

We also tried the Arca’s Docto Pie Ala Mode, which is a kamote (sweet potato) pie. I like the natural sweetness coming from the sweet potato. (The waitress told us that docto is “sweet potato” in the local language.)

Arca’s Yard is a must-visit if you want some peace and quiet. Next time, I will try their dishes and other drinks. I recommend this place to you.
