Porch Coffee: A Cafe Housed In One of Clark Freeport’s Barn Houses (They Make Good Coffee and Desserts!)

Clark Freeport Zone, a special economic zone in Pampanga province, has been experiencing rapid development in the recent years. More and more attractions, restaurants, and cafes have been opening inside the freeport.

Recently, we visited one of the most visited cafes in Clark—Porch Coffee. It’s a brunch spot that serves coffee, burgers, and sandwiches.

Inside Porch Coffee

Porch Coffee is housed inside a barn house, which was the first structure built inside Clark. Barn houses are built way back in 1903 when the area was still called Fort Stotsenburg! So the name of the cafe is inspired by the porches of these barn houses.

The Porch of Porch Coffee

Porch Coffee is a nice place to hang out. You can even borrow board games if you’re already getting bored. (See what I did there? LOL!)

Bored Games! LOL.

So let’s talk about the food. I heard that they make good burgers, and I also heard that Porch has the same owner as Baguio City’s Hatch Coffee (see my review here), which makes mean burgers. So I tried their Porch Burger.

The patty is tasty, beefy, and has a nice crisp exterior. However, it’s too smashed that it looks like a piece of ham. And the bun is too yellow. LOL. The veggies, though, are fresh and crisp.

Honestly, it’s underwhelming. Maybe I should’ve tried The Classic Cheeseburger instead. I’m just glad that the other items we ordered compensated.

The Animal Fries is loaded with meat and drenched in tangy sauce (I think it’s mustard). The fries remain super crisp even though it’s drenched in the sauce.

I learned to love coffee mixed with orange juice. So I tried their OJ Long Black, which is refreshing. I also tried their Milo Dinosaur, which is really just a creamy Milo drink.

And now, the desserts, which are all good! We got the Pecan Pie, which has a nice butterscotch flavor, though I wish there are more whole pecans. It’s like a boat tart, which I love, but on steroids!

The Chocolate Chip Cookie is buttery and has chunks of chocolate. I bet that it’s better when it’s warm and the chocolate is gooey.

Finally, the Plain Brownie is moist and fudgy. It’s like a crinkle but in brownie form!

Porch Coffee is a nice cafe with good food and a cozy vibe. Next time we visit, I’ll definitely try their Classic Cheeseburger. Anyway, I highly recommend Porch Coffee to you!
