One World Butchers: Satisfy the Carnivore in You at this Butchery and Restaurant in Poblacion (Makati City)

I love meat. If forced to choose between meat and seafood (which I hope never happens), I’ll always go for the former. And I’m glad that a meat paradise opened in my neighborhood this year—One World Butchers.

One World Butchers

One World Butchers is a butchery, deli, and restaurant in one. It is one of the exciting concepts by PYC Foods Corporation, the group behind Cafe Fleur (by Chef Sau del Rosario), Pardon My French, One World Deli, One World Kitchen, and Sawsaw by Sau (also by Chef Sau, obviously). It is also helmed by Chef Miguel Gianan, who loves meat and grilling.

I like that they have an open kitchen concept, making you smell the aroma from the grill.

They also have an al fresco area:

One World Butchers is also known for their sausages. They have classic flavors, as well as artisanal ones. Ever had Hawaiian (yes, it has pineapple) and Sisig Sausages? They have it! (More on the sausages we tried later.)

Look at that sausage selection!

Let’s talk about our meal, starting with the Charred Caesar Salad. The vegetables have a nice crunch, the dressing is nice, and I like the marinated egg. But honestly, I couldn’t taste the char in the vegetables.

We also ordered the Manly Skirt Steak, which is a 500g Braveheart black angus skirt steak marinated in garlic, soy, and parsley. The waiter warned us that it’s not as tender as a ribeye, and we expected it. Still, it’s tasty, juicy, and acceptably tender. It also has a nice char. This satisfied my manly steak cravings!

The skirt steak was nicely cooked!

The steak comes with grilled vegetables, which is nicely crisp and a good contrast to the tender steak.

To compliment the steak, we got a few sides—Butter Garlic Confit Rice, which is just okay, and Virgin Mashed Potatoes, which is delicious.

Of course, we also tried their sausages. We got one traditional (Beef Sausage with Cheese), which is P250 each, and one artisanal (Cilantro Jalapeño Cheddar), which is P280 each. Both are juicy, tender, and have a nice snap. But I like the latter, as it has a spiciness the builds up and a cilantro flavor, which I love.

I’m excited to try the other sausages next time!

One World Butchers is truly a meatlovers paradise. All the food we tried are delicious. I look forward to trying their other meats, sausages, and even desserts (which we didn’t get to try). I highly recommend this place to you.
