Passione (Panini): Probably The Best Focaccia and Panini Stall in All of Hong Kong!

When my wife and I are abroad, we usually take a break or two from local food and try Western food or even a global fast food chain. For our Hong Kong trip, we planned to visit Morty’s Delicatessen and try their Reuben Sandwich. But if we pushed through, our wallets would be bleeding profusely due to high Hong Kong prices! LOL.

Thankfully, I watched a reel that featured a panini stall with more affordable prices, and visited it instead. That stall is Passione in Sheung Wan. (Don’t confuse this with the Passione french bakery in Hong Kong.)

Passione

Passione is a takeaway stall that specializes in Focaccia bread and Panini sandwiches. And let me just say it right away: They make the best focaccia I’ve ever tried! It’s crisp outside and fluffy inside!

Look at those fluffy focaccia bread!

Since Passione has no dining area, we walked to a nearby park. Apparently, many people do takeaways from different food spots and eat at the park. Anyway…

Passione offers a build-it-yourself panino (which I learned is the singular form of panini). I got pepperoni, pesto, sundried tomatoes, and, for an extra fee, burrata.

The burrata is creamy, the pepperonis are spicy, and the pesto and sundried tomatoes add another layers of flavors. This is easily the best Italian sandwich I’ve ever had! (I haven’t been to Italy and the States so this will be my best for now. LOL.)

Passione also offers Focaccia Pizzas. We tried the Pepperoni, which has spicy pepperonis and tangy tomato sauce.

By the way, if you’re not into spicy food, you might want to go easy on it. The spiciness can build up with every bite.

Their desserts sound good so we tried all of it. First is the Olive Oil Lemon Cake, which is super moist and fluffy. It also has a nice flavor (I think it’s the olive oil) and sugar topping.

Next is the Japanese (Caramel) Pudding, which is creamy and has a nice burnt caramel flavor.

Last is their 60% Chocolate Cookie, which is gooey and has a nice saltiness.

Every item we tried in Passione is amazing. I can tell that it’s made with quality ingredients and done with, as its name suggests, passion. With this, I highly recommend Passione to you!

P.S. I can’t believe that two of our best meals in Hong Kong are Japanese (see my Mashi No Mashi review here) and Italian. LOL.
