717 Coffee & Co.: This Cafe in Clark Freeport (Pampanga) Has Good Coffee and A Nice, Blue-Themed Interior!
The Clark Freeport Zone, a special economic zone in Pampanga province, has been experiencing rapid development in the recent years. In the past few years, the freeport has seen a rise in cafes. One of them is 717 Coffee & Co.
Located in One West Aeropark, 717 Coffee & Co. is a Nordic-inspired cafe. The name “717” is an angel number indicating the need to slow down and find time for oneself and others. I think their blue-themed interior tries to communicate that.
I first saw this cafe in Instagram, and it kept bugging me (You really know me, IG! LOL!). So when we had an event up north, we made sure to drop by.
We ordered their Martha Stewart’s Roasted Pumpkin Soup. It’s garlicky and buttery—a flavor bomb! The croutons are also garlicky as well.
This soup is so good that I think it’s the best I’ve ever had. I can’t believe that I’ll taste my favorite pumpkin soup in a cafe. So we ordered another one for takeaway. I guess when Martha Stewart’s name is attached to a dish name, you better order it! LOL!
We also tried their Lasagna Bites, which is a lasagna that’s breaded and deep-fried. It has crispy crust, albeit a bit too thick for me, and a nice marinara flavor.
For dessert, we got their Tiramisu. It’s moist and creamy, with a subtle coffee flavor. But it has cacao (or coffee) nibs that are hard, taking away from the experience.
Of course, we couldn’t leave the cafe without trying their coffee. I ordered their 717 Coffee, which is made with coconut milk and influenced by a local delicacy—Tibok-Tibok. While this is traditionally made with carabao (water buffalo) milk, it can also be made with coconut milk.
Think of this drink as a coconutty latte. So if you’re into coconut milk, then this is for you.
Honestly, I was a little skeptical of 717 Coffee and Co., thinking it’s another faddish cafe with good ambiance but mediocre food. However, their food is better than the other cafes. And even with the little food that we tried, I can already tell that the other dishes will be good as well. With that said, I highly recommend it to you!
